Deputy Leader of the Jumhooree Party, Ameen Ibrahim has said that the government is unable to stop or curb the increasing crime rate because they are the ones perpetrating crimes.
Ameen said that the claim that the government is unable to stop crime because of the lack of sufficient laws has no basis and is false.
He said that the government rushes to make laws and amend laws to protect their leaders and to harass and arrest their opponents. However, when it comes to protecting the peace and stability of the nation and finding justice and equality to the people, the hands of the government are tied.
Ameen said that this claim of lack of sufficient laws will not be accepted by the people. He said that the government has a clear majority of 60 percent in the Peoples’ Majlis and they can do whatever they want in the Majlis easily.
In addition to this, Ameen said that the government understands that a people have stood up for the rights of the people. He said that they know that the opposition did not stand to protect the rights of only a group of people but to protect the rights of all people.
“It is for this reason they send groups to confront us. With the will of Allah, we will not stop. We will not be intimidated. We will continue and march forward. We will reach success,” he said.
