Sheikh Imran Abdulla, the President of the Adhaalath Party has said that the government has only support from 15 percent of the people. He said that they lost the support of 85 percent of the people because they chose tyranny and oppression.
Sheikh Imran made this remark speaking at the public rally entitled “Maldivians against Tyranny.”
In view of the sacrifice of 150 goats on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of independence, he said that the people are not in need of meat but are in need of justice.
Sheikh Imran said that Allah has obligated upon the rulers to rule by justice and if the President does not follow this obligation than he should be warned.
Sheikh Imran said that the people will stand up against oppression. He said that this is the case with every oppressive state in the history of mankind.
He said that the government should stop oppression before it escalates beyond bounds. He said that President Yameen should stop the tyranny against former President Nasheed, Colonel Nazim and Jumhooree Party leader Gasim Ibrahim.
