General Manager of Four Seasons Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru and company appointed Regional Vice President Armando Kraenzlin has requested the government to think twice regarding continuing A’ Level studies in the Maldives.
Armando made this remark speaking at the concluding ceremony of the Four Seasons Resorts Maldives Apprenticeship Program for 2014 and the beginning of the program for this year.
He said that some of the students participating in the program are at the range of 15 to 16 years old and even within one year they will be still young which will make it difficult for them to get jobs.
Armando said that according to the information received from the participants there is no importance for A’ Level studies in the Maldives. He said that the students note that even the parents and teachers mostly do not recommend A’ Level studies.
“I request the government to think twice regarding continuing A Level studies. We also need students who are well educated. I believe that participants for this program should be between 17 to 18 years old,” he said.
He also said that the increase in the number of youth seeking employment is a sign that the local perspective on employment is changing and that it would create more innovative and enthusiastic workers.
