The Maldives Olympic Committee (MOC) has announced the initiation of Olympic Value Education Program (OVEP) by signing a Memorandum of Understanding between MOC and Island Communication and Entertainment Pvt. Ltd – ICE TV.
In the initial phase of the program, a television program would be broadcasted on ICE TV - a local channel. MOC, ICE TV co-owned program’s videography and post production services are provided by CHOPART Pvt. Ltd.
Ms. Aminath Shiura, Basketball National team player and Cricket National team player Mr. Hassan Ibrahim, will host the television program.
The objectives of the program are to promote the Values of Olympism, increase sports awareness and advocate a healthy lifestyle for younger generations.
The program will air on ICE TV in the coming weeks, and after the broadcast of the initial 8 episodes, the program will be rebroadcasted on other local TV channels as well.
The Maldives Olympic Committee also plans to conduct activities within this program in various schools of Male’ and across the country. These trips will include local “Champions” who will join the MOC contingents to interact with students to promote the above-mentioned values.
