Deputy Leader of the Jumhooree Party, Dr. Hussein Rasheed has said that participants of the “Maldivian against tyranny” Movement will establish good governance in the Maldives.
Dr. Hussein Rasheed made this remark speaking at the rally held by the the “Maldivian against tyranny” Movement at Hulhumale’ last night.
“The government has gone to extremes in oppressing the people. After bringing an end to the government tyranny and oppression we will establish a good governance in the Maldives,” he said.
Hussein said that the Mayday rally will seek solutions from the government for the issue of the electricity problem faced by the people.
“Electricity bills have gone up beyond reach. The people are facing many difficulties to apply for subsidies,” he said.
Dr. Hussein said that the government wants to rule the country by subduing the people. “President Yameen cannot do this. President Yameen cannot remain in power except if he rectifies the problems and establish justice, peace and love,” he said.
He also criticized the government for trying to take the Male’ City Council’s building. He said that this is unconstitutional and a perfect example of the oppression of the current government.
