Thoddoo constituency MP Ibrahim Hassan has said that the Peoples’ Majlis should take full responsibility for the current situation in the Maldives.
Ibrahim Hassan made this remark speaking at the Peoples’ Majlis yesterday. He said that the citizenry have very high hopes for the members they elected.
“The only people who can make orders on the President is the Majlis. Majlis can make orders on the state institutions. Therefore, the members of the Majlis should take the responsibility of the sad situation of Maldives today,” he said.
Ibrahim Hassan called the President to come to terms with the opposition for the sake of the people.
“I ask the President to come to terms with all of us for the sake of the people,” he said.
He called the members of the Majlis from the ruling coalition to seek rectification before the problems escalate with the opposition having no power in the Majlis.
“Speaker. You are a capable person. I have known this from my days here. Therefore, I urge you to rectify these problems. Take initiative to publicly do it in front of all the media,” he said.
