Deputy leader of the Jumhooree Party, Ameen Ibrahim has urged all people to come out to the streets to make the government stop their tyranny against Jumhooree Party leader Gasim Ibrahim.
Ameen made this remark speaking at the “Maldivians against tyranny” rally held at Baa Atoll Thulhadhoo last Friday night.
He said that there is no hope for justice from the government for Gasim Ibrahim. He said that the government not freezing the accounts of Villa Group yet is not a reason to believe that they won’t do it.
Ameen said that it is very likely that the government will freeze the accounts of Gasim Ibrahim after May 1st.
“I believe that the Government is waiting to freeze Villa Group accounts after May 1st. After that all accounts would be frozen. We have to stand up against that,” Ameen said.
He added said that the fate that befell former President Mohamed Nasheed and Colonel (Rtd) Mohamed Nazim was a clear warning to the citizens.
Ameen stated that the residents of Thulhaadhoo were exemplary in reform movements and appealed all to adhere to that example.
