Deputy Leader of the Jumhooree Party, Ameen Ibrahim has been arrested.
He was arrested under a court warrant while he was at M. Kunooz.
The police stated last night that they will arrest all those who are needed for their investigation of yesterday’s Mayday protests.
Ameen Ibrahim is one of the leaders who have been voicing against the tyranny of the current government. He was participating in the “Maldivian against tyranny” activities on his personal level.
In the meeting with the Police on Thursday, Ameen assured the Police that he will not call to or do anything illegal during the Mayday protests.
Ameen requested the Police to watch the video footages of yesterday’s protest to see whether he participated in any illegal activities during the protest.
