Opposition held a rally last night at Artificial Beach area against Police brutality and government oppression.
In last night’s rally of the “Maldivians against tyranny” while MDP,s Mariya Ahmed Didi was speaking the Police issued warnings against the organizers of the protest.
After taking a break, Mariya said that she waited for a statement from the Police but since there they issued no further statement she believes that they were given permission to hold the protest.
She said that the government wants to destroy the opposition and all their political rivals. She said that that is not something that is possible.
Mariya said that the Police used brutality against the people during Friday’s Mayday rally. She said that the government wants to silence the voice the people using the Police against them.
She said that the people are very worried and they have been raising their concerns to the government.
