The court warrant issued to arrest the President of the Adhaalath Party, Sheikh Imran Abdulla states that he is a threat to the safety and security of the society.
Among the reasons for the arrest includes, instigating the masses to rebel against the government and issuing warnings to the President and government leaders during his speeches and instigating the protestors to enter premises closed down the Police.
Sheikh Imran’s case is investigated by the Serious and Organized Crime department of the Police.
Sheikh Imran has been stated that President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom will come to the discussion table to hold discussions with the government.
During the rallies, Sheikh Imran repeatedly stated that they are not trying to rebel and topple the government.
