The religion of Islam does not permit issuing judgement and verdicts based on intentions. This is something that is well known.
A person does not have to be a religious scholar to know this fact. Anyone who listens to the Biography of the Prophet of Islam (peace be upon him) will know this fact.
Usama ibn Zayd killed an [enemy] idolater in battle after the latter had said: "There is no god worthy of worship but Allah" (La ilaha illallah).
When news of this reached Allah's Messenger he condemned Usama in the strongest terms and he said to him: "How can you kill him after he said La ilaha illallah?" He replied: "But he said it with the sword hanging over his head-"
The Prophet -- Allah bless and greet him -- said again: "How can you kill him after he said La ilaha illallah?" He replied: "O Messenger of Allah, he said it in dissimulation."
The Prophet -- Allah bless and greet him -- said: "Did you split his heart open (to see)?" and he did not cease to reprove him until Usama wished that he had not entered Islam until after he had killed that man so that he might have been forgiven all his past sins through belief.
Therefore based on this incident it is crystal clear that judgement is based on what is apparent and not what is inside in the heart.
Meanwhile, recently during the Human Rights Council meeting of the United Nations, the foreign Minister of Maldives, Dunya Maumoon stressed that calls to introduce values contrary to the values of Islam won't be entertained by Maldivians.
She also stated that for Maldivians, basic belief in Islam is integral part of Maldivian identity. And she assured that this will not change.
Every Maldivian is proud of these bold statements of the Foreign Minister of Maldives in front of an audience of the International Community.
However, it is ironic that these words are not put into action by the current government of Maldives.
The agreements made by the government with Villa were settlement agreements because the government was unable to compensate the company.
During the time of need of the government, Gasim Ibrahim agreed to these agreements as requested by the government.
However, as a result now the government is trying to bankrupt the Villa companies based on what the government believes to be the intention of the company.
So now the question is where is the hundred percent Islamic values that the foreign minister spoke of in the Human Rights council of UN? Is Islam used as a tool and a card to fool the people?
