Police has stated that they will be arresting more people for investigation regarding the Mayday protest.
Some of the media reports that among those to be arrested includes the Jumhooree Party leader Gasim Ibrahim. However, the Police media official stated that it is not clear who will be arrested but anyone who needs to be arrested for investigation will be arrested.
“We will continue arresting anyone that needs to be arrested regarding the investigations.” The Police media official said.
“I do not know whether Gasim Ibrahim is among those who are to be arrested or not,” he said.
Although Police did not confirm the reports, the ruling party PPM accuses Gasim Ibrahim of masterminding and funding the Mayday protest.
Gasim Ibraihm denied the accusations of PPM and said that he nor Jumhooree Party participated in the protest and they did not fund the protest.
The Jumhooree Party leader is currently abroad.
Police have sent cases for prosecution of more than 130 people arrested during the protest.
