Deputy Leader of the Adhaalath Party, Dr, Mauroof Hussein has called President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom to create an environment for discussions and then to call for dialogue and discussions.
Dr. Mauroof made this remark speaking at last night’s rally of “Maldivians against tyranny” protests. He said that Adhaalath Party is a party which always supports dialogue and discussions between all parties.
He said that the party’s leader Sheikh Imran Abdulla was arrested and jailed while he was calling the government to hold discussions.
He said that the government should create an environment for dialogue and should release all political prisoners.
Dr. Mauroof said that the government is tyrannizing the people by giving undue power to some people. He said that they are using due advantage of their authority and power.
He said that the situation escalated this much because of these people. He said that now protestors cannot use four wheeled vehicles without special permit from the Police.
He said that the current political turmoil will be resolved when the President established dialogue and discussions between all the political stakeholders.
