Deputy Leader of the MDP, Mohamed Shifaz has said that the manifesto used by President Abdulla Yameen to deceive the people to come to power is “fatherless”.
Shifaz made this remark speaking at the rally held yesterday at Raa Atoll Dhuvaafaru.
He said that the manifesto has become a punishment for the people. “Now they are denying what was in their manifesto. They are claiming it was something made up by some street kids. Therefore, their manifesto now has become fatherless,” he said.
Shifaz said that the government has not fulfilled any of their presidential pledges mentioned in their manifesto. He said that the government is instead oppressing and tyrannizing the people and depriving them of their constitutional rights.
In addition to this, Shifaz announced a mass rally of the opposition against the government tyranny to be held in the first week of June. He said that the people will participate in it regardless of the intimidation of the government.
“There is nothing the government can do to stop and obstruct it,” he said.
He said that the President has no support of the people. He said that he has not met any person who supports President Yameen.
He said that everyone who gave their votes to President Yameen during the election regrets electing him as the President.
