Government spokesperson Abdulla Muaz has said that they are not concerned regarding the demands of the opposition.
Abdulla Muaz made this remark when asked regarding the conditions set by the opposition to hold talks with the government.
“President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has reiterated his appeal for the political stakeholders to engage in dialogue with the Government. There is nothing to be said regarding the demands and conditions,,” he said.
He said that the purpose of the government is very clear. He said that the government wants to make the nation and the people prosper and live in peace and stability.
He reiterated that the Government, within the framework of the constitution, always has its doors open for engagements with the opposition that would foster peace, prosperity and development to the people of the Maldives.
Muaz said that the government will give preference to the welfare of all people over the welfare of individuals.
