An office of the government health scheme, “Aasandha” has been opened in a foreign country for the first time.
The office opened in the neighbouring Sri Lanka was inaugurated by the Minister of Youth Ahmed Zuhoor in a special ceremony held in Sosun Villa.
According to reports, Maldivian Ambassador to Sri Lanka Zahiya Zareer, Aasandha Company’s Managing Director Maumoon Abdu Samad and NSPA CEO Mujthaba Jaleel took part in the ceremony.
During the ceremony Minister Zuhoor stated that the office was opened in Sri Lanka, as many Maldivians travel to the country for medical treatments. He added that with this office, many would have easier access to the service.
Aasandha office stated that customers of Aasandha will have easier access to the service, especially in case of life threatening complications, accidents and emergencies.
According to Vnews, Government is working to establish an Aasandha outpost in Trivandrum, India as well.
