Impurities were from the bottle, not from the water: FDA
Maldives Food and Drug Authority (FDA) has stated that the observed impurities from life water arose from the bottles the water was packaged in and not from the water itself.

The agency revealed that they had conducted tests on the water and the production facility after reports had surfaced that water from the 1.5 liter bottle of batch number 255 had impurities and an odor. FDA said that from the tests, it was revealed that the issue had risen from the bottles.

FDA stated that they had been able to resolve the issue with the company and that the company was conducting their production along the guidelines issued by FDA.

The press statement was issued on 30th May.

With the media reports, many who had bought the water had opened their bottles and checked for impurities. However, no additional issues with the water had been reported. After FDA had issued two press releases, many media had reported the news widely.
