Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) has appealed boats to be wary of maritime safety. The institution made the appeal in a press release issued today.
The press release stated that the present weather conditions are unfavorable and quite unsafe. The press release called on all to travel only unless necessary and to take proper precautions when travelling. MNDF called on all to stock emergency supplies, not to overload boats and to check the pumping systems in the boats.
Met Department had also issued a yellow alert.
As of now, two boats have capcized and two fisherment from GaafDhaalFiyoari had drowned in the heavy rains.
