Decorated recipient of NishanIzzudin recognition Abdu Rasheed Hussain stated that the societal framework of the Maldivian society is dependent on the elderly members of the society.
He made the statement speaking in the maahefun held for the elderly held last night in Alimas Carnival area.
Hussain stated that the talks of the societal ties being broken beyond repair maybe true. However, if the youth and the elderly were given a proper platform for interaction, then the state of the nation would change. He added that even though this process can take a while, Maldivians would be able to hold on to their national identity.
He stressed on the importance of unity for this initiative and that it was vital for the elderly to lend their support for a successful initiative.
Hussain noted the work carried out by the Government for the betterment of that sector of the population.
