Laamu Atoll Gan hospital has stated that the dead expatriate found in one of the houses of the island is believed to have been murdered and that he was in a state of decay at the time of the discovery.
The responsible senior official of the Hospital Mohamed Abdu Samad stated that the dead expatriate was Badh Shah Miah, a Bangladheshi citizen, and that he had sustained several injuries. He added that it was plausible that someone had attacked Miah.
“There is a three centimeter cut near the top of his right brow. It can be estimated that he had been dead for over 24 hours. His body is in various stages of decay,” Samad said.
Miah, 45 years old, was the caretaker of a residence belonging to a citizen of the island presently residing in Male’. He was found in Randhaan house lying on a mattress.
Police is conducting investigations into the case.
