Second round of talks between JP, Government postponed
The second round of negotiations between Jumhooree Party (JP) and the Government has been postponed.

The first round of talks were held last Tuesday. On that day, the two sides agreed to hold the second round of negotiations yesterday evening at 3.00 pm.

JP’s lead negotiator and MP for Kimbidhoo Constituency Abdullah Riyaz reported that President’s Office had informed that the scheduled negotiations had been cancelled. He added that yesterday’s negotiations were cancelled as some of the Government negotiators were not presently in the country.

The Government had not issued any reasons as to why the negotiations were cancelled.
