STO has stated that a new shipment of potatoes, onions and eggs will be sold in the market starting Sunday.
Speaking to Miadhu, STO Managing Director Ahmed Shaheer stated that the present stock sold in the market is the last goods of a large shipment.
“We are selling that after cleaning them, as we do not want a supply break,” Shaheer said.
He added that the shipment that will sale on Sunday will sell for the same prices. As such, STO sells a kilo of onions for MVR 10, while a sack of onions sells for MVR 220. A kilo of potatoes is selling for MVR 9 and a sack of potatoes retails for MVR 180. STO is selling an egg for MVR 1.50, with a case of eggs retailing for MVR 270.
STO has sold onions and potatoes for MVR 12 per kilo from last Ramadan to the 16th of June. At the same period, a sack of potatoes and onions retailed for MVR 250.
