Island Aviation premises handed over to Nasandura
Premises of the Island Aviation head office has been handed over to Nasandura Palace Hotel, adjacent to the premises.

The Government had issued notice to Island Aviation Services (IAS) to vacate the premises last month. The notice was issued after another location in Male’ was given to IAS, as their new premises.

Deputy Minister for Tourism Ministry Ibrahim Lirar stated that this decision was finalized by the Cabinet’s Economic Council last month.

He added that the premises had been handed over to Galaxy Enterprises, parent company of the Hotel.

Lirar also stated that the new premises for IAS would be given after the formalities had been completed. Even though, no information regarding the new location had not been made public, it has been reported that the new premises for IAS would be located in Raaveriya Restaurant. The restaurant, located in front of Social Center was recently closed.

Galaxy Enterprises had announced that Nasandura Palace Hotel would be torn down and a 15 story hotel would be built on the location. The Hotel was closed early last month.

Galaxy Enterprises is owned by President Abdullah Yameen’s brother in law Mohamed Manik.
