The hearings of the appeal case of former Defense Minister Colonel (Rtd) Mohamed Nazim which was to be held yesterday was cancelled. The hearings were initially to be held every working day.
Nazim’s family reported that they were not aware of the reason why the hearing was cancelled. However, they stated that they believed that the hearings were cancelled as the High Court bench had new appointees.
Nazim’s family stated that changes to the bench was not an issue. Nazim’s legal team had presented 26 issues to the High Court appeal hearings on the ruling issued by Criminal Court.
Nazim’s family also reported that the scheduled family visitation time was also cancelled. However, the family had reported that the visitation will resume today.
