Villa College Rector Dr. Ahmed Anwar has stated that future prospects for Maldivian youth can only rise from pursuing fields of interests for them.
He made the statement speaking in the graduation ceremony for graduates of grade 12 for 2014 held Tuesday night in Dharubaaruge.
Dr. Anwar stated that the end of grade 12 studies, is not the end of the educational life, but rather the start of their future studies.
He added that if one does not pursue a field that was not of personal interest, then that person would be stuck in a profession that was not rewarding. Dr. Anwar also stated that in the event Maldivian youth did not seek out higher education prospects, then the job market would always be filled with qualified foreigners.
Dr. Anwar also highlighted on the importance of higher education in addition to practical experience.
Dr. Anwar concluded his speech by calling on all youth to engage in higher education in order to resolve the job market crisis facing the nation.
