Former Member of Parliament for Ihavandhoo Constituency Ahmed Abdullah has stated that the political front at home can only be managed by freeing political detainees. Speaking in the rally held by opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) last night, Ahmed Abdullah stated that all political detainees such as former President Mohamed Nasheed, Adhaalath Party President
Sheikh Imran Abdullah and former Defense Minister Colonel (Rtd) Mohamed Nazim must be freed.
He added that political charges against such persons must be withdrawn as well.
Ahmed Abdullah also called on the Government to cease the economic measures placed on Jumhooree Party (JP) Leader Qasim Ibrahim.
Additionally, he said that all exiled political figures must be allowed to return home.
