Biggest hurdle is not knowing the owners of companies: Janaah
Maldives Association of Construction Industry (MACI) has stated that the biggest issue facing the organization’s initiative to clean out stagnant water in construction sites was connecting with the owners of the companies that owned the sites.

MACI President Mohamed Ali Janaah stated that the organization had started an initiative where member companies and members would check construction sites for stagnant water in the sites and properly clean those sites.

He added that under this initiative they may have to check the information of those sites that are owned by non-members of the organizations.

This initiative is part of the nation-wide campaign initiated to curb the spread of dengue, which had seen an alarming spike in reported cases in the past week.

Dengue had already claimed the lives of four people. The Government had initiated several plans to curb the spread of the disease.

There is no medical treatment for dengue, apart from destroying the breeding grounds for mosquitos and killing them.
