President Abdullah Yameen has released a statement regarding the flu and dengue crisis facing the nation.
President’s statement said that the relevant Government authorities were on alert and had already implemented the necessary preventative measures for the control of the diseases and provide quality health care for the citizens.
President added that special work was carried out to clean stagnant pools of water, clean and fog the islands to curb the spread and breeding of mosquitos. Additionally, the statement added that the Government had implemented awareness programs and treatment options in the health service outposts. Also, the statement said that special technical teams were working full time to mitigate the situation.
President’s statement also called on all to accept their individual roles in safety, general cleanliness and cleanliness of the surroundings in addition to following the advice issued by medical practitioners.
“If the public and the Government work together, with the will of God, we can make a difference,” the statement said.
