Kelaa sewerage system project started
A ceremony was held in Haa Alif Kelaa to mark the start of the sewerage project for the island.

The project was kicked off by Minister of Environment of Thoriq Ibrahim. The project, carried out on a design and build procedure, is managed by Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC). The project was given to the company on 18th September 2013.

Under the project, piping work and sewage pump station and outflow systems will be established. The total cost of the project is MVR 53 million. The project will conclude by May 2016.

The Ministry reported that once the project has been completed all of Kelaa will have access to adequate sewerage system.
