Bonuses issued for Civil Service employees
Civil Service Commission has stated that the commission has started to issue bonuses for the best performing employees of the Commission in addition to this month’s salary.

Speaking in a press conference, the Commission’s Senior HR Officer, Mohamed Riza stated that the employees who did not receive bonuses this month, would receive the bonus with next month’s salary. He added that this bonus was given after evaluation carried out from last year February to this year January.

A total of 25, 076 employees are employed in various ministries and agencies. Riza stated that out of that 55 percent or 13,905 were eligible for bonuses. MVR 40 million had been allocated as bonuses out of the special budget of Finance Ministry.

In 2013, 51 percent of Civil Service employees had received bonuses.

He added that the Commission had collected required information and data on the employees for the past year and checked on their progress in relation to the targets assigned to them. For the highest performing staff the bonus was a month’s salary. Second category performers earned two thirds of a months’ salary. Third category performers earned one third of the salary.

Riza added that if an employee had any issue regarding the bonus, they must file the issue to the relevant Committee in the employee’s office or in Civil Service Commission. The bonus guidelines have been published on the Commission’s website.
