President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Qayyoom has stated that the time of Fitr Eid is a time for personal reflection and societal improvement.
He made the statement in the message issued on the occasion of Fitr Eid.
His speech stated that the Eid was linked to a month that was on redemption, strengthening the faith and oneself as such was a key opportunity to reflect and improve.
His message called on all to engage in developing familial ties and friendships and extending assistance to those in need of assistance. His message extended greetings and felicitations of the day to all Maldivians, leaders and citizens of Muslim nations, leaders and member of international Islamic organizations as well as allies of Islamic nations. His message added that he had received such felicitations from leaders of Islamic nations as well as leaders of Islamic organizations.
