Commissioner General of Customs Abbas Adil Riza has stated that the Maldivian businesses were most assisted by the development of Customs services.
Speaking to PSM, Abbas said that the biggest success for Customs in terms of economic development was assisting the development of Maldivian businesses. Abbas also revealed that Customs will unveil official colors of service award, given to those employees with long service, which is to be awarded in Customs Anniversary in August.
Customs had worked to ensure that the services of agency are delivered speedily. Customs was the highest earning agency prior to government slashing import duties for many products and introduction of taxes.
This year marks 125 years of Customs service and Customs put forward many plans to celebrate the occasion. As such, Customs had passed out gifts to around 1,500 children in many areas of Male’ in celebration of Fith’r Eid. Additionally, Customs plans to carry out a program to clean Male’.
