Jumhooree Party Leader and Maamigilee Constituency MP Qasim Ibrahim has stated that the appointment of a Vice President alone would not resolve the issues facing the nation. He cited that for this to occur, rule of law as per the Constitution was required.
Speaking in the Parliament, Qasim stated that he had high hopes that new VP Adeeb would not repeat the example set by former VP. He called on Adeeb to ensure that the rule of law was carried out with no exemptions to the rule.
Qasim stated that Addeeb had continuously demonstrated that he was capable of rising to difficult challenges. He also stated that Adeeb had demonstrated this both within the Government and outside of the Government.
Qasim called on Adeeb to give more effort in order to resolve the issues and create societal, economic and political harmony in the nation.
