Economic Ministry has opened up participation and sponsor slots for “Maldives Investor Forum 2015”, which is to be held in Beijing, China this year.
Speaking to Miadhu News after the ceremony held in Hotel Jen to announce the opportunities, Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed stated that the largest companies of China will take part in this year’s Forum.
Similar to last year’s Forum held in Singapore, President Abdullah Yameen is to take part in the forum. Minister Saeed stated that this gives the forum a strong profile as well. He added that the Forum will focus on banking, real estate and finance sectors.
Minister Saeed said that China was the destination for this year’s Forum as the nation was a fast developing nation. He added that they estimate that around 800 participants will take part, out of which around 100 will be representatives from Chinese corporations. Minister Saeed stated that President Yameen had made it a priority to actualize his economic agenda during his tenure and that he was meeting with different parties in various stages to fulfill it.
He added that the Forum was a platform for the Government and Government agencies and corporations to advertise their development projects.
Minister Saeed said that local businesses were present in the ceremony last night and that local and regional parties had signed up for the Forum.
An online portal was opened for the registrations was opened last night.
