Environment Ministry Thoriq Ibrahim stated that the 16th of this month will be celebrated as the National 3R Day.
Environment Ministry reported that an agreement will be signed between different resorts to adapt waste management technologies and become more environment-friendly. Additionally, all atolls will be approving the Clean Maldives campaign launched by Ministry. He added that new projects on the initiative will be announced as well.
A pre-forum meeting was held aimed at the resorts in order to prepare for the 3R Forum. In the three day meeting, over 50 resorts took part.
3R is taken as Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. The aim of the 3R day is reducing waste and reducing waste that has to be destroyed.
Minister Thoriq stated that the Forum will bring positive changes to the Maldives.
