High Commission of the Maldives organized meetings with the Universities in Malaysia who have offered discount and scholarship opportunities for Maldivian students with the visiting Minister of State for Education H. E. Dr. Abdulla Nazeer so that these opportunities could be made available to students through the Government.
The Universities include Sunway Education Group, UCSI, Ramsey Sime Darby College, Mahsa University, Open University Malaysia, Perdana University and Institute Aminuddin Baki (IAB). During the meetings all the universities discussed in detail about the offers they have proposed to the Maldivian Government, through the High Commission of the Maldives. These offers have been already communicated to the Ministry of Education.
Speaking at the meetings, State Minister Nazeer thanked the universities on behalf of the Government for their generous offers and said that the Maldivian students will benefit a lot from these opportunities and that he will make sure that these opportunities are made available to the students.
High Commission of the Maldives have been negotiating with Malaysian Universities to get more scholarship opportunities for Maldivian students and the universities mentioned above are some of the many universities that the High Commission is in talks with, which includes Monash University, IIUM and IMU. The High Commission is working very hard to get more opportunities from other universities and negotiations are ongoing.
