President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Qayyoom has stated that the Government will soon issue permits to create 6 floor buildings in Vilimale’.
He made the statement speaking in the ceremony to open Vilimale’ Hospital as a third tier hospital.
President Yameen stated that many residents of Vilimale’ had requested for such permits and as soon as the Government had finalized the necessary procedures, permits will be issued. He also stated that even though the building permits for Male’ authorizes buildings of 25 floors, the same was not applicable for VIlimale’ as the island was developed as a strictly residential area.
President Yameen stated that the seawall of the southern area of the island was being built and that a private individual has begun the work of building a mosque in the island. He also stated that upon the completion of these projects, he had had completed all of his presidential pledges. Therefore, he added that he will seek to further develop the island.
