Parliament has to secure jobs for locals: MP Faisal
Kaashidhoo Constituency MP Faisal Naseem has stated that most of the highly paid jobs in the Maldives are filled by foreigners and that the Parliament should work to reverse this situation.

MP Faisal said that the same was applicable in the situation in the resort sector and that it was questionable that the same opportunities were not granted for the locals. He also said that in the event there were no qualified locals for the jobs, then the government should cater to that knowledge gap. He noted that at the moment there were many who needed training.

Faisal said that there were many youth who are actively seeking training especially in the resort sector. He stated that the drastic changes need to be made to the job market and that those changes are essential to the future of the nation.

He added that it was vital that high paid jobs were given to locals in order to keep the cashflow secured in the nation.

Faisal stated that it was almost impossible to push such a bill in the parliament due to the current proceedings of the Parliament. He also stated that the opposition MPs were prevented from submitting any kind of bills and in the event they do, the action is seen as an attempt to halt the proceedings of the Parliament.
