Foreign Minister H.E. Dunya Maumoon has met with the Foreign Minister of Japan, H.E. Mr. Fumio Kishida Friday evening in Tokyo.
At the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Minister Dunya thanked Minister Kishida for the warm welcome extended by the Government of Japan and conveyed good wishes from the Government and people of the Maldives to the Government and the people of Japan.
At the meeting, Minister Dunya remarked at the value attached by the Government of Maldives in respect of the bilateral ties that exist between the two countries, and highlighted the attributes of shared values, and mutual respect, that underlie the close relations.
Foreign Minister was accompanied by His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Khaleel, Ambassador of Maldives to Japan and Ms. Aishath Azeema, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, Minister Dunya also extended an invitation to Minister Kishida to make an official visit to Maldives.
