President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Qayyoom has stated that India and the Maldives have inseparable ties with each other, and that it had been that way in all of the governments.
The President made this statement while addressing the people of Innamaadhoo Island, at the official inauguration of the Innamaadhoo Branch of Fenaka Corporation Limited, the island’s new power station.
He said that India had been a key partner in every single issue that the country has faced, especially in the 3rd November 1988 attack. President Yameen said that the country was independent and secure today, due to the speedy assistance provided by India that day.
President Yameen said that the Government is eternally thankful to Indian Government and that the relationship had remained the same from day one onwards.
