MEGA Maldives and Liveaboard Association Signs MoU
03 September 2015, Male’; MEGA Maldives Airlines and the Liveaboard Association of Maldives (LAM) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a framework in which both sides could closely work together, and to explore future areas of collaboration.
At the signing ceremony held at the MEGA Maldives Corporate Headquarters in Male’, Mr. Mifzal Ahmed, Director for Strategy and Business Development signed the Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of MEGA Maldives, while Mr. Hassan Haleem, President of the Liveaboard Association of Maldives signed on their behalf.
Speaking to journalists after the signing ceremony, Mr. Mifzal Ahmed said that the MoU lays down the groundwork for greater cooperation and collaboration between MEGA and LAM. As part of this agreement, MEGA Maldives will provide special travel fares and cargo rates for members of LAM, as well as support each other’s marketing and branding efforts.
Mr. Hassan Haleem thanked MEGA Maldives for their keen interest to collaborate. He mentioned that such efforts will contribute directly to the Maldives’ tourism sector, and that it aligns closely with the Government’s economic and tourism policies in increasing tourist arrivals.
The MoU allows both MEGA Maldives and LAM to discuss and explore future areas of cooperation which could be beneficial to both the aviation and tourism sectors, and the Maldives as a whole.
The Liveaboard Association of Maldives is an association comprising of liveboards, safari and cruise boat operators that undertake efforts to further the interests and objectives of the liveaboard sector in the Maldives.
