Maldivian students have stated that if they were given the opportunity to participate in events such as science fairs, then they can excel in academic platforms and challenge international students on such a platform.
Iskandar School Captain Mariyam Azha voiced the statement on behalf of the students taking part in the science fair opened yesterday. The National Science Expo 2015, organized by the Ministry of Education, was opened by Minister of Education, Dr. Aishath Shiham.
In the welcoming address given to the attendees of the Expo, Azha said that in this Expo new inventions created by students will be seen and that students needed such Expos for the learning opportunities they provided.
The Expo, she added will showcase the talent and capabilities of students in the field of innovation. She said that the purpose of the Expos should be to open a wide platform on which students can display what they have created.
Azha thanked all those who had assisted in making the Expo a success.
