Vice President Ahmed Adeeb has stated that the Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives, Wang Fukang, is an individual who had given high priority to Maldivian economy.
Vice President Ahmed Adeeb made the statement speaking in the ceremony held to unveil the bridge design.
In his speech Vice President Adeeb said that the project would not have proceeded without the excellent assistance rendered by the Ambassador. He also noted the importance the Chinese had given to the project, citing that it was also a key initiative of President Xi Jingpin. Adeeb said that President Xi had questioned regarding the location of the bridge on his trip in 2014. He also noted the vital role played by Chinese Government, companies and consultants.
