Vice President Ahmed Adeeb Abdul Ghafoor has stated that the best person is one who wins through hard work, prudence, good values and intellect instead of loud words.
He made the statement speaking in the “Colors Awards” ceremony, held to mark wins of athletes on an international and local level in the past year.
Vice President Adeeb noted his personal experiences, citing that in addition to hard work and perseverance. He added that patience was one of the biggest lessons taught by field.
Vice President noted the importance of united work and trust taught by sports, stating that these lessons served well in the workplace. He also added that proper values were essential to create a generation that will uphold the nation.
Adeeb noted that the winners of the Colors awards were capable of winning on a national and international platform. He assured that the Government will seek out to assist and promote such winners.
Vice President added that it was important to be humble in the face of a win. He also said that a defeat was inevitable and should work to better improve their talents.
Vice President Adeeb handed the Colors Awards for the winner of the under 18 category as well as the best athlete of 2014.
