Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure has signed a contract with Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) for the construction of Ha.Dhihdhoo channel breakwater and beaching area.
The ceremony held at Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure on Wednesday was attended by Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, Chief Executive Officer of MTCC Mr. Ibrahim Abdul Razzaq Haleem, Member of Parliament Dhidhoo constituency Mr.Abdul Latheef Mohamed, Ha.Dhidhoo Council president Mr.Ibrahim Shinan and Officials from Ministry and MTCC.
Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Dr. Mohamed Muizzu signed the contract agreement on behalf of the Government and CEO Mr. Ibrahim Abdul Razzaq Haleem signed the agreement on behalf of MTCC.
The project, which is funded by the Government of Maldives, costs approximately MVR 13,744,787.76 and the works should be completed within 160 days as mentioned on the contract.
The main components of the project includes, dredging and excavation for beaching area to a depth of 3 meters which will cover an area of 10640 cubic meter. Also, area of 8940 cubic meter will be dredged and excavated for entrance channel to a depth of 3 meters. Apart from that, the project includes construction of 90 meter breakwater which will be leveled and placed with amour rocks.
Construction of 90 meter revetment and leveling and placing with sand bund, geo-textile and armor rocks will also be done under this project.
