MVR 47 million projects tasked for health sector development
Health Ministry has signed health sector agreements amounting to MVR 47 million as part of the development of the health sector of the country.

Speaking in the ceremony, after tasking the private contractors, Health Minister Irthisham Adam stated that this was part of the Government’s initiative to expand the services of the health sector.

As such, A.A. Bodufulhadhoo health center is to undergo repairs, design work of new wings of Sh. Funadhoo hospital, H. Dh. Kulhudhuffushi and Fuvahmulah Atoll hospital and the five story redesign of Lh. Naifaru hospital have been tasked in the agreements. Additionally, contractors have been tasked with the removal of old air conditioners and installation of new air conditioners in the second floor of the Ministry premises in Roashanee building.

Bodufulhadhoo project is to be concluded in 76 days and will cost MVR 681, 057.40. Funadhoo project is to be concluded in 27 days at a cost of MVR 63,796.00. Fuvahmulah project is to be completed in 42 days at a cost of MVR 114,480.00.

Naifaru hospital project is to be completed in 365 days at a cost of MVR 44,705,401.21. Kulhudhuffushi hospital is to be concluded in 37 days at a cost of MVR 157,410.00. The health Ministry repairs are to be carried out within 108 days.

Health Ministry reported that once the Naifaru hospital is completed there will be a fully functional OPD area, 8 consultation rooms, a laboratory, 6 in patient wards, pharmacy, 8 private rooms, an operation theatre and bed lift services.
