Ministry of Economic Development has revealed that the second Maldives Investment Forum will take place in Beijing on the 19th of October.
The forum was to be held initially in September but was postponed due to the incidents that occurred in china.
Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed had paid a visit to China to observe the preparations of the forum. He also gave an exclusive interview to China Radio’s International Desk, which was given in the Maldivian embassy in China.
Chinese Government had worked in hand in hand with the Maldivian Government to ensure that the forum was a success.
The first Maldives Investment Forum was held last year in Singapore. Some of the projects agreed in the Forum, such as the I-havan transshipment port, are under way. State Media Public Service Media (PSM) has reported that the feasibility studies of the project had been carried out on the 15th and 16th of this month by the Boston Consultancy Group. The feasibility studies for the project is financed by Saudi Government aid.
