Vice President Ahmed Adeeb Abdul Ghafoor has assumed presidency during President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Gayyoom’s trip to Mecca.
Vice President Adeeb is the youngest person to assume leadership role since the dissolution of the monarchical system. Presently, he is 33 years old.
