Abdul Qayyoom Hassan was a distinguished service personnel: President’s Office
President’s Office has stated that the late Abdul Qayoom Hassan was a distinguished service personnel in the Office and had filled various positions in the Office.

The office stated this in a statement released Tuesday, to commemorate the life and achievements of Abdul Qayyoom. He passed away Tuesday morning in Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital at 71 years.
President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Qayyom had sent condolences to the family of the late Abdul Qayyom Hassan and noted the long years of service for the nation.

He had served in the Government for over 49 years, with the longest service rendered to the President’s Office. He had served under former President late Ibrahim Nasir and former President Maumoon Abdul Qayyoom. Under President Maumoon’s tenure, he had served as President’s Office’s Assistant to the Executive Secretary, Senior Presidential Aide, Director and Director General. Abdul Qayyoom retired at 65 years on 8th January 2009. At the time of retirement he was serving as advisor to the President’s Office.

All those who had worked with him had noted his honesty, faithfulness, sincerity and mostly his dedication to national service. They also noted the remarkable kindness and exemplary conduct Abdul Qayyoom had demonstrated over the years.

He is survived by three sons and three daughters.
