Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdulaziz Al Asheikh has stated that Islam had progressed via prayer and faith to demonstrate strength and that the Muslims had plenty when it came to power, capabilities and were self-sufficient.
The mufti made the statement while delivering the annual Eid sermon and added that Muslims did not know how to use their advantages to their benefit. He noted that globally the number of Muslims were increasing. He also noted that most of Islamic nations had benefits such as oil, mineral and water resources. The Mufti added that Islamic nations were strategically placed, geographically, with many nations acting as pathways between Asia and Europe.
However, Imam noted that Muslims had failed to use this leverage. As such, Muslim nations and Muslims were amongst the weakest, failing to function independently and continuously relying on the enemies of Islam to function. He added that this was overt and visible.
